Br Visitor's letter to Brothers 2022

Dear Brothers

New Year greetings. I write from the Sector of Pakistan where I am spending most of January, February 2020 being my last visit prior to the outbreak of COVID-19. While connectivity was maintained via electronic means during the pandemic, nothing replaces the joy experienced in being with the Brothers and other Lasallians in person. Nothing replaces the joy of experiencing in person
the growth and vitality of the Institute in the Sector.

On 1 January we celebrated the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God  where the first reading of the liturgy from Numbers 6 is the blessing I pray for each of you as 2022 gets underway:

“ May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord let his face shine on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord uncover his face to you and bring you peace.”

And Pope Francis  reminds us: “At the beginning of the New Year, then, let us place ourselves under the protection of this woman, the Mother of God, who is also our mother. May she help us to keep and ponder all things, unafraid of trials and with the joyful certainty that the Lord is faithful and can transform every cross into a resurrection. Today too, let us call upon her as did the People of God at Ephesus. Let us stand and, facing Our Lady as did the people of God in Ephesus, let us together repeat three times her title of Mother of God: “Holy Mother of God, Holy Mother of God, Holy Mother of God”! Amen.” (Homily Pope Francis, 1 January 2022)
