FDMC raising money for twinned school

Finally in September 2022, all Covid restrictions were lifted in New Zealand and Mission Action Day was able to be held in its entirety at Francis Douglas Memorial College.

The day began with a liturgy focusing on the life and Mission of Father Francis Vernon Douglas. For the first time in two years we were able to sing our school song. The lack of practice showed but confidence returned as the song continued. The liturgy was very ably led by students from Year 7 to Year 13.

The liturgy was followed by the Haka competition. Each House put their own stamp on the Haka and at the end we were blessed with a full school Haka led by Matua Josh Walden. A very moving experience. The wairua was strong! Click HERE to view the students performing the Haka.

After a short break the boys all left for their sponsored run. On returning to school they completed activities to gain clues to solve the Vertical Form competition. All correct entries were put into a draw to win pizza for their Vertical Form. The answer to the puzzle was the words of Father Francis Vernon Douglas. “With no Regrets”

Another great Mission Action Day with funds raised for our twinned school, Malkhanwala La Salle, in Pakistan.
