"The best Retreat I've ever done"

The 2022 Aotearoa New Zealand Lasallian Retreat occurred at the MacKillop Retreat Centre at Mission Bay, Auckland.

The Retreat theme was "The teaching of Pope Francis' during his Papacy".

Three professional presenters provided inspiring and practical presentations, which were very well received.

Participants from Francis Douglas Memorial College, New Plymouth, De La Salle College, Mangere East and John Paul College, Rotorua, all took part, with daily numbers varying between 13 - 20.

Retreats in New Zealand over the last ten years have been dynamic gatherings involving Lay Lasallians and Brothers. This evolution has resulted in Lasallians working more closely and productively together.

Hear from some of the participants:

"This was the best Retreat I've ever done - best in terms of the behaviour and interaction of the boys that the three schools had selected…they did indeed 'lead' and exemplified the spirit of tuakana-teina."

"It was the sense of Lasallian brotherhood that was the highlight of the camp: all of the boys just intermingled and got on so well together. It would have warmed your heart to see them wandering around with their arms around each other during the last few days of the camp."

"As always, Camp La Salle is a highlight of the year for me. Once the initial organization is done, it's just a pleasure to get out there and see the boys enjoying themselves."
