Honouring International Day of Charity: Lasallian Foundation's Impactful Projects
On 5th September, as we celebrate International Day of Charity, we honour the incredible power of giving and the profound impact that acts of kindness can have on our world. Today, we are delighted to spotlight five remarkable projects supported by the Lasallian Foundation that are transforming lives and spreading hope across communities.
-
Breakfast Club Project 🍽️ Since 2010, the Breakfast Club at La Salle Technical College, Hohola, has been providing nutritious meals to 200 students from impoverished backgrounds. These meals are more than just food—they're a vital incentive for students to attend school and start their day with the energy they need. Thanks to generous donors like Oakhill College and the Lasallian Foundation International, this project continues to thrive. We’re always grateful for your support to keep this initiative going strong!
-
New Facilities 🏫 Thanks to donations received from generous schools, organisations, families and individuals, the Lasallian Foundation has been building a brighter future for disadvantaged and poor students in Pakistan and PNG with the construction of new buildings, new classrooms and new washroom facilities. These additions will provide a better learning environment and essential facilities for students, helping them to achieve their full potential.
-
Women of Hope Hygiene Packs 💧 A dedicated group of 20 women in Port Moresby is making a difference by providing hygiene packs to students in Papua New Guinea. These packs include vital items like sanitary products, soap, and toothpaste, helping to improve health and school attendance. Special thanks to La Salle Foundation International (USA) and yourtown in Australia for their continued support!
-
Provision of Clean and Cool Water Lasallian schools in Pakistan are faced with the challenge of providing clean and clear water as the local water supplies are often contaminated with industrial runoff or salt from rising water tables. Regular daytime temperatures in Punjab, Pakistan, of more than 43C mean that the availability of cool water is particularly welcomed by the students. The Lasallian Foundation has been progressively providing funding received from Australian Lasallian schools so that all 16 Lasallian schools and educational institutions in Pakistan will be able to provide clean and clear water for the students within the next two years.
-
Sponsorship As a result of donations from families and individuals, the Lasallian Foundation has been able to provide scholarships worth about $50,000 for displaced and disadvantaged students in Palestine, Pakistan and PNG Lasallian educational institutions.
On this International Day of Charity, we invite you to reflect on the power of giving and join us in supporting these life-changing projects. Together, we can make a lasting impact and continue to spread hope and opportunity. 🙌💕
