Happy Holidays

Message from Br Visitor

Dear Lasallians.

May your Christmas and New Year be one of Blessings, satisfaction and hope.

This year we have continued to be challenged by the ever-changing circumstances in which we deliver our shared Lasallian Mission.  It has called us once again to draw on our courage and creativity, our resilience, our strengths, and importantly our compassion and dedication to young people, as Brothers and Sisters united.

For so many it has continued to be a year of much change, and that is true for me personally as I became the Brother Visitor.  Like many who take on new roles I am still coming to terms with all that is the role of Visitor, but even in my short time so far, it has been a privilege to see the depth of care, belief, and energy across our District and Globally.

The Spirit of Giving

The Christmas spirit is a spirit of giving and forgiving without a thought of receiving anything in return; this has been described as a ‘tonic for all souls’.

Giving can come in many forms. It can be a smile, a kind word or an act of generosity. It can be an acknowledgement of effort and a show of support. It can also be spending hours on the phone talking to someone who is in trouble and needs our help.

Giving is very personal and the reward it reaps is also very personal - self-worth, self-love, self-respect and a sense of connection and purpose. These are the greatest gifts of all. They are both priceless and totally obtainable for each of us if we open our hearts.

“To love another person is to see the face of God.” (Victor Hugo)

Our Mission is one of hope, aspiration, and love.  Thank you all for being so faithfully committed to the Lasallian Mission, and through that to young people.

I wish you, your loved ones, and all whom we serve across our communities, a joyous Christmas.  May God Bless you with peace and joy for the year to come.

St John Baptist de La Salle… Pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts… Forever.

Merry Christmas!
