PARC Lasallian Studies Program
As part of the PARC Region Renewal Plan, I am pleased to announce the launch of the three-year PARC Lasallian Studies Program, the first year of which will begin in 2025.
The PARC Lasallian Studies is a hybrid program of face-to-face and online modules designed for current or aspiring formators throughout the region. With the first year focused on the intensive study of the Founder's life and writings, Lay Partners and Brothers are invited to participate enthusiastically to receive significant formation to formulate, imagine, and implement a Lasallian response to current challenges in education, especially for the young and the poor. The face-to-face sessions of the first cohort will be conducted from 27 April (Sunday) to 3 May (Saturday) 2025 at Krisalis: Benilde Retreat and Conference Complex in Tagaytay City, Philippines. The estimated cost to participate in the program is $1,400 per person. This includes room, board, and study materials.
While acknowledging PARC’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity, to ensure optimum accessibility to program participants, the course will be presented in English as the medium of instruction. Facilitated by experienced Brothers and Lay Partners, including Br George Van Grieken FSC, Br John Cantwell FSC, Br Michael Venezuela FSC, and Mr Alfred Kah Meng Pang, the program will be an inaugural course offered
by the PARC Region.
The program's objective is to establish a PARC Lasallian Learning and Professional Community, enhance comprehension and awareness of the Lasallian mission, and equip participants with the ability to implement a comparable program or project in their sector and their local language upon completion of the course. The online component will be facilitated through Canvas Catalog, a Learning Management System. Additionally, the program will undergo accreditation through the ICJM Consortium.
With an alignment to the 46th General Chapter and AIMEL’s pathways and priorities (Pathway 5 - Association for the Mission and Pathway 6 - Lasallian Vocations: Journeying together and AIMEL LOA 6 - Revitalization of our commitment to education in interiority, spiritual accompaniment), this program will address the intercultural reality, diversity, and formation needs across the PARC Region.
We are calling for expressions of interest from suitable participants across the PARC Region. Visitors are requested to nominate two participants from each country, with 32 participants expected in the first cohort. The nominated participants are invited to complete this expression of interest form: https://bit.ly/PARC-LS-EOI on or before Sunday, 1 December 2024.
If you require any additional information, please contact the PARC Lasallian Studies Core Team: Julie Alibrandi juliealibrandi@delasalle.org.au; Coreen Paul cpaul@lasalle.org; or Christine Ballada christine.ballada@dlsu.edu.ph.
