Lasallian awarded Hills Shire Council's Hills Woman of the Year

The Hills Shire Council partnered with The Sanctuary have announced The Hills Shire International Women’s Day 2022 Award winners at a groundbreaking ceremony, where Ms Rose Garofano, Assistant Principal Curriculum, Oakhill College was awarded Hills Shire Council's, Hills Woman of the Year 2022.

Ms Garofano is a very deserved recipient of this award. Her contributions to charities such as Relay for Life, her support of The Sanctuary - The Hills Women's Shelter, and her energy, commitment, and enthusiasm as a teacher and mentor have positively impacted the lives of so many young people in our community.

The ceremony was marked by four game changing powerhouse speakers, Ms Yvonne Keane AM the Founding Chair of The Sanctuary - The Hills Women’s Shelter, keynote speaker Ms Annabelle Daniel the CEO of Women’s Community Shelters and panellists Ms Maria Kovacic the President and Chairperson of Hills Community Aid and Ms Melissa Monteiro CEO of the Community Migrant Resource Centre.

Ms Garofano's award came about from several Oakhill College alumni who nominated her, demonstrating her positive and powerful influence.
